Getting There

By Air

Rome Fiumicino Airport – Probably the best airport for travelers arriving from the USA is the Rome (FCO) airport.

Perugia Airport – A few low cost airlines fly to Perugia from a variety of European cities although the times and days may not be compatible with an International flight from the USA.  If you are already in Europe, this could be a good option as the Perugia airport is only a 30-minute drive to the house and has rental car service available from Avis and Europcar.  You can check the flight schedule here.

Florence Airport and others – If you are willing to make a 2+ hour drive there are other airports available in Italy.

By Car

In most cases, you will need to rent a car.  We recommend booking through www.kemwel.com which offers deals from Hertz, Avis and Europcar.  I like them because they often offer full coverage with no deductible for the same price as the rental companies offer without coverage.  You will save time and stress by getting the full coverage.  Keep in mind the cars are smaller and particularly the trunks are smaller than the U.S. so try to pack accordingly.

Other Transportation Options

Bus – From the Rome Tiburtina Bus Station (also the main train station), take the FlixBus to Todi.  Another option is the Sulga bus.

Train – There are trains that get in the vicinity (Terni or Perugia) but they are not faster than taking one of the bus options above.  If you are coming from a destination other than Rome, a train to Perugia is a good option.
